Ditali pasta with chicken, broccoli, and bacon

Ditali pasta with chicken, broccoli, and bacon
  • Ingredients

    • 500 ml (2 cups) Rao's Alfredo sauce
    • 150 g ditali pasta (or short pasta)
    • 500 ml (2 cups) shredded roasted chicken  
    • Half a head of broccoli, cut into small florets 4 slices of bacon, cut into strips 
    • 1 shallot, finely chopped 
    • 1 clove of garlic, chopped 
    • 60 ml (2 tbsp) olive oil 
    • 125 ml (½ cup) grated Parmesan cheese 
    • Salt and pepper
  • Directions

    1. Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli pieces and blanch them quickly,  then remove them with a slotted spoon or sieve. Reserve the cooking water and cook the pasta in it until  it is al dente. Drain the pasta. 
    2. While the pasta is cooking, prepare the creamy sauce.  Heat the olive oil in a large skillet. Fry the bacon strips until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on paper towels. In the same skillet, sauté the shallot and garlic until translucent. Pour in Rao's Alfredo sauce, then add the chicken, broccoli, and bacon. Heat everything together. 
    3. Add the pasta and stir until everything is hot and creamy. 
    4. Turn off the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, then season to taste. 
    5. Serve.

Tips and tricks

  • For a gratin dish, transfer the mixture to an ovenproof dish, sprinkle with cheese, and bake for 10 minutes at 400°F (205°C) until golden brown.
