Mafaldine with Bolognese Sauce

This Bolognese sauce also turns out exquisite in homemade lasagna! Make it in large batches and freeze it for easy meals on busy weekdays.

Mafaldine with Bolognese Sauce
  • Ingredients

    • 300g mafaldine pasta or any other type
    • 30ml (2 tablespoons) olive oil
    • ½ finely chopped yellow onion
    • ½ finely chopped carrot
    • ½ finely chopped celery stalk
    • 1 finely chopped red bell pepper
    • 450g (1 pound) ground beef
    • 45ml (3 tablespoons) beef concentrate
    • 30ml (2 tablespoons) grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 jar of Rao’s Tomato and Basil Sauce
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Directions

    1. In a preheated large skillet, add olive oil and cook all the vegetables over high heat for about 5 to 8 minutes.
    2. Add the ground beef to the vegetables and cook the meat thoroughly.
    3. Pour Rao’s Tomato and Basil Sauce and the beef concentrate over the meat and vegetables. Mix and let it simmer gently for 3 to 5 minutes.
    4. Place the cooked pasta into the Bolognese sauce and mix everything gently.
    5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    6. Sprinkle with Parmesan and serve.
